and perfection

July 18, 2008

yay, parfait time again =D i didn’t take pictures of the ones i made last time, so here are some now, though they don’t look as nice :\ but they still tasted awesome. and i normally won’t post recipes <unless they’re someone else’s that i like enough> because i’m not an innovator and i don’t really have it all figured out, but this one is really simple and flexible.

mix some honey to taste with plain/vanilla yogurt <i highly recommend low/nonfat>. spoon a dollop into the bottom of a glass. top with sliced strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. pour granola over fruit <i use organic…in the past it’s been Cascadian Farm maple brown sugar or oats & honey granola>. repeat layers – yogurt, fruit, granola. on the top, you can spoon more yogurt and/or fruit for deco if you’d like. serve cold immediately. if you leave it for too long, your granola gets soggy. et voilĂ . i left out quantities because you can vary them however you like, really. and of course you can substitute/add fruits as you like, but obviously some combinations are going to work better than others.

parfaits work best when you use transparent glass cups, preferably taller ones to show off the layers. this one is, obviously, a little short...or i could have used less layers

so good and healthy
